Douglas Huston says...
It should say DC perm mag motor right on it or you could bring a volt meter and check for dc volts. check for easy spinning also, if its tuff to spin then you might need bigger blades

Thanks for the interesting and informative Youtube videoa. I am in the planing stages of my own Solar Electric generating station, and was suprised to see your idea about the transfer box from Grid to Solar. It's sort of what I had in mind, but I didn't see anyone else on Youtube using this arangement. In exchange for informational support I'm thinking of purchasing your charge controller and perhaps a few other items. I'm in central Florida and we have very little wind here, but I'm considering building a couple wind generators as well.

Can you tell me how to tell the difference (visually) from a permanent magnet motor vs. the A/C type...? There is a scrap yard down here with a FULL PALLET of brand new motors he's going to scrap. I'd buy them, but I don't know the difference.

Thanks in advance,
Douglas

This is a great website. I watched your video on Utube. I am just getting started on my own wind generator. I will probably order plans for a charge controller in the future. Do you sell the charge contoller already assembled? I live in Ontario Canada. If you do sell the controller what would it cost me including shipping. Anyways you are doing a great job, Kepp it up. Thank You for the information.
